Ganja Goodies to Make and Give

With Christmas just around the corner, we are all scrambling and shopping for gifts. We recently gave you what we found to be The Perfect Holiday Gifts for Cannabis Lovers, but some of us still love the tradition of spreading joy through baked goods. And what better way to cater to the weed lovers on your list than with some decadent edibles? So without further ado, here are some fabulous cannabis holiday goodies that will put your loved ones in a merry mood.

Cannabutter

Being our third cannabis cooking recipe article, we feel like we cover this a lot, but cannabutter is the secret to baking with marijuana. Cannabutter makes it easy to whip up virtually any cannabis cookies or baked goods. Leafly.com has an excellent article with a recipe and instructions for making cannabutter. You will need a good amount on hand for both of the recipes below.

Even better, you can make a large batch of cannabutter and give it away as a gift in itself! It’s a fantastic idea for someone on your gift list that loves reefer and baking. Just fill decorative jars with your homemade cannabutter, tie a festive ribbon around it, and tada, holiday magic. For a bonus, include a handwritten recipe or print out one of ours.

To save time and make things easy, you can often purchase premade cannabutter or even THC-infused coconut butter from dispensaries near you.

White Weed Brownies

You can’t go wrong with classic weed brownies. We gave you our recipe in our How to Make Classic Weed Brownies (and Space Cake Too) article but let’s put a spin on them and make them more fitting for the season.

Recipe:

● 1 cup melted cannabutter
● 4 eggs
● 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
● ½ cup white cocoa powder
● ½ teaspoon baking powder
● ½ teaspoon salt
● 2 cups white sugar
● 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
● ½ cup macadamia nuts

You may notice the only differences from our classic recipe are the substitution of white cocoa powder for dark, the addition of macadamia nuts, and an extra ½ teaspoon of vanilla. These simple changes will make for delectable white weed brownies to remind you of the snowfall that makes us love Christmas.

Instructions:

1. Combine all listed ingredients (except the nuts) in a large mixing bowl until smooth with no lumps.

2. Pre-grease a 9×13-inch pan and pour brownie batter in.

3. Spread the macadamia nuts over the batter.

3. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (check if the brownies are done by poking a toothpick into the center of the pan to see if they are still moist or uncooked).

4. After removing and cooling the brownies, cut and wrap them individually.

*We like to add little cannabis leaf stickers to ensure nobody accidentally eats THC unwillingly. That’s not funny. If advertising the ingredients won’t work for you, make sure to let the receiver know you added cannabis to their treats.

Christmas Cannabis Cookies (weed leaf-shaped)

Who doesn’t love cookies? There is a good reason the Cookie Monster is often associated with cannabis and loved by weed smokers. With this weed-shaped cookie cutter from Amazon and these green-dyed sugar cookies, your ganja-loving co-workers, neighbors, friends, and family will love you. And there will be no mistake that these delicious treats contain THC. Wrap them in red plastic wrap, and you have the perfect holiday-baked gift.

Recipe:

● ⅔ cup cannabutter softened
● ⅔ cup shortening
● 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
● 2 large eggs
● 1 ¾ cups white sugar
● 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
● 1 teaspoon salt
● 2 teaspoons baking powder
● Green food coloring

Instructions:

1. Beat shortening and butter in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.

2. After adding the sugar, add the eggs one at a time, scraping the bowl’s edges often. Stir in the vanilla.

3. Mix the flour, salt, and baking powder in a medium-sized bowl.

4. Add the dry ingredients to your wet mixture a little at a time, mixing as you go until everything is combined and the dough comes together.

5. Add a few drops of green food coloring at a time until the desired shade of green is reached.

6. Place the dough onto a large piece of wax paper. Place the second piece of wax paper over the dough. Use a rolling pin and spread dough evenly until ½ inch thick.

7. Remove the top layer of wax paper and cut cookies using the weed leaf-shaped cookie cutter.

8. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet spaced apart enough not to touch each other.

9. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10-12 minutes until the cookies are light brown on the bottom.

10. Remove your cookies from the oven and cool. Wrap and give!
